Power Systems
Power Systems consist of prime and standby power packages, custom engineered and designed for critical power applications, which include generators and associated systems, metering panels, free standing and wall mount engine generator control panels, plus miscellaneous industrial controls.  There is a multitude of medium to large size businesses in Canada, which require custom designed Power Systems, to suit their specifications.  At PSP, we have the facility, resources, and experienced team to build the system that meets your power requirements.  These full-package Power Systems are often referred to as Diesel Power Systems (DPS) since many conventional systems are powered by diesel generators; however, natural gas systems are also in use and can be built at PSP.

PSP provides the complete service for your power system, including:

Design and Layout à Placement and Installation à Fabrication à Testing and Commissioning

Design and Layout - PSP works with the customer and engineer to establish a functionable and cost/space effective layout for the generator and associated equipment/systems.   ACAD drawings are produced and reviewed by the customer for each system, prior to fabrication and installation.

Placement and Installation - Most Power Systems are assembled at our Edmonton shop, which consists of two large service bays, including a large outside fenced and secured storage and work area.   PSP has the qualified people and necessary equipment to place and hook-up generator sets and auxiliary equipment into the buildings.

Fabrication of Exhaust, Fuel, Ventilation, and Electrical Systems

Projects include full fabrication and installation of exhaust, fuel, ventilation, and electrical systems at PSP.

Testing  and Commissioning - PSP normally provides complete testing and commissioning of Power Systems.   Essential elements of the project are tested and witnessed by the customer prior to being shipped from our shop facility.  Often, depending on the customer’s requirements, follow-up commissioning and testing services are provided by a PSP technologist on-site.  PSP can provide the temporary power and loads necessary to complete a full range of testing sequences.

Projects range in size from one or two buildings to several buildings.  PSP have had up to 7 Power System buildings under construction for a single project at a given time.

Power Systems Plus is committed to the highest degree of quality and workmanship.   Before the Power System Building is turned over to the customer, complete testing and demonstration to the client is carried out to ensure satisfactory operation.  From initial design to on-site commissioning, we are committed to providing the expertise and qualifications to deliver a turnkey Power System that meets your power specifications, budget, and timeline.
